You can find here Abakos VST plugins and some more interesting software. Click on the menu (some sections are still under construction).
Welcome
HERCs Music Systems is looking for Early Adopters of a new synthesiser.
We are happy to introduce our new flagship instrument: Von Forman.
The instrument is quite complex. The main sound generation method is FM accompanied by Formant Shaping technique.
However, it can also use sample-based subtractive method, ring-modulation, etc.
To make it even more interesting, Von Forman has embedded dialect of Micro-Prolog programming language,
which enables the instrument to compose music entirely on its own!
As an Early Adopter you will be:
Happy to find glitches, bugs and problems, report them and wait for an update.
Happy to work in Linux environment. Von Forman currently works under Debian-based Linux distributions with JACK Audio Connection Kit.
At the moment it is not a VST plugin and it does not work with any DAW out-of-the-box.
You can probably make it work with a DAW through JACK.
Happy to work with limited user manual. However, the help and guidance will be offered through mailing list, email and/or any other form of digital communication.
As soon as the number of Early Adopters increases, there will be more community support offered.
Happy to create your own unique sounds. If you are looking for a menu with ready-made presets then forget about becoming an Early Adopter of Von Forman.
(Well...., truth being told, it contains about 500 presets converted from Abakos, but they are not even close to what Von Forman is really capable of.)
Happy to get exposed to Prolog programming language. Forget about Python. Prolog is the true old-fashion real AI language.
As an Early Adopter you will be encouraged to learn how to encode musical knowledge in Prolog and thus make the instrument able to compose music automatically.
In return you will:
Receive a personalised version of Von Forman with unique serial number.
The instrument will be yours forever together with all new updates.
If you make valuable contributions (i.e. preset sounds and/or Prolog programs)
and Von Forman will become a commercial endeavour (i.e. will generate some income),
then we will wish to do the right thing and share adequate portion of this income with you.
If you are a proficient computer programmer (C++) then we may wish you to become a collaborator and work on Von Forman's code.
